Replicated database for reporting

As reporting demands continue to grow in scale and complexity, Aegis has observed a significant increase in the volume of advanced reports being executed within the FactoryLogix suite. Currently, these reports are processed directly against the transactional production database, which can lead to performance degradation and strain critical system resources intended for core manufacturing operations. To address this challenge, Aegis introduced enhanced functionality that supports a streamlined SQL replication strategy. This new capability enables customers to offload reporting workloads to a replicated database environment, reducing the impact on production systems. When implemented according to recommended best practices, this approach preserves transactional performance in both the strain on the database as well as the resources allocated to the production database server.

Data archiving

FactoryLogix Archiving is a licensed feature within the FactoryLogix platform that enables organizations to systematically move historical manufacturing data from the live production database to a secure archive repository. This helps maintain optimal system performance by reducing the size and load of the active database, which in turn improves query response times and overall application efficiency. In addition to performance gains, archiving supports long-term data retention requirements without compromising day-to-day operations, allowing users to access historical records when needed for compliance, traceability, or analysis. By separating active and historical data, FactoryLogix Archiving provides a scalable approach to managing database growth while ensuring critical information remains available and protected.
