Manufacturing managers and executives sometimes find it challenging to understand the real value delivered by FactoryLogix, especially since many don’t use the system directly, but are ultimately responsible for funding the system and expect to see tangible results and value from it. Additionally, since report recipients don’t typically interact directly with FactoryLogix software and may also lack technical expertise, reports must be straightforward and self-explanatory, making the value they convey easily accessible to this audience.

Solution:
FactoryLogix system value reports are a comprehensive set of automated reports that reveal the manufacturing issues FactoryLogix prevents and highlight the real cost savings for customer management and executives. The reports allow all non-users of the FactoryLogix system to view and understand the many quantifiable benefits of using the Factorylogix system.

Note

To provide data to the new data sets, a new set of data storage tables and data generators were added to FactoryLogix version 8.251.0. This means that data will only be available for these data sets from the time FactoryLogix version 8.251.0 or newer has been in use at your site.

Example

Consider a situation where incorrect material is mistakenly used during the material setup of a process; if this happened, it would cause a reduction in yield.

FactoryLogix material validation ensures that wrong materials can’t be loaded, preventing defects and maintaining high yield. However, this value added by FactoryLogix can’t be observed directly just by examining the final output yield, further highlighting the need for a method to effectively communicate this intangible value to customers.

Specialized report templates and data sources

System value reports are created using highly-specialized data sources and report templates (*.dtfx files) in FactoryLogix Analytics. The system value reports allow non-users of the FactoryLogix system (managers and executives, for example) to view and understand the many benefits of FactoryLogix.
