Replicated Database Reporting

Introduction

As reporting demands continue to grow in scale and complexity, Aegis has observed a significant increase in the volume of advanced reports being executed within the FactoryLogix suite. Currently, these reports are processed directly against the transactional production database, which can lead to performance degradation and strain critical system resources intended for core manufacturing operations. To address this challenge, FactoryLogix supports a streamlined SQL replication strategy. This capability allows customers to offload reporting workloads to a replicated database environment, reducing the impact on production systems. When implemented according to recommended best practices, this approach preserves transactional performance in both the strain on the database as well as the resources allocated to the production database server.

This guide provides general information about the reporting database capability and provides guidelines for implementing SQL replication and connecting the replicated reporting database to FactoryLogix.
