Configure FactoryLogix to use Entra ID (Azure AD)

Introduction

Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) is a cloud-based identity and access management service that helps your organization manage secure access to apps, resources, and data.

FactoryLogix now supports Microsoft Account sign-in for on-premises installations. This feature allows your organization to authenticate FactoryLogix users through your existing Microsoft identity infrastructure, enabling a seamless and secure FactoryLogix login experience that integrates with tools and policies your organization already uses.

What Entra ID does

Microsoft Entra ID serves as the foundation for authentication and authorization across both Microsoft and third-party services. When you sign into Microsoft 365, Azure, or other connected applications such as FactoryLogix, Entra ID verifies your identity and determines what you're allowed to access.

Key capabilities

Entra ID has the following capabilities:

• Single sign-on (SSO)

  • Sign in once and access all your apps—including Microsoft 365, third-party SaaS apps, and on-premises applications—without signing in again.

• Multi-factor authentication (MFA)

  • Add a second layer of verification (such as a phone notification or authenticator code) to protect your account beyond just a password.

• Conditional Access

  • Your IT administrator can set policies that grant or block access based on factors like your device, location, or sign-in risk level.
